Gunfire Reborn: How to Save

Gunfire Reborn is an adventure game that combines elements of first-person shooters, RPGs, and roguelites. That means while you head through areas guns blazing, you're more than likely going to die at some point. In roguelites, that typically means retaining some of your experience and loot, but having to start over again from the beginning.

If you aren't a huge fan of roguelites that make you go all the way back to the start, you'll be pleased to know that Gunfire Reborn does, in fact, have a save feature that lets you keep all of your goodies and experience when you're ready to quit so you can step away from the computer and rest your poor, aching eyes (and wrists) for the day.

First things first: Gunfire Reborn isn't about autosaving. Your best bet if you don't want to keep having to start from scratch and complete the same runs over and over again is to try to avoid dying as much as you possibly can. That part probably goes without saying, but it's especially true in a game like this.

Because like many modern games that will keep track of what you've done and offer you a quicksave option, Gunfire Reborn doesn't have that. Instead, you need to be strategic about keeping what you've done intact. You can do that first by remaining alive as long as you can, saving and also tossing Soul Essence earned during runs toward the Talents in your Talent tree.

How to Save and Quit in Gunfire Reborn

If you want to save your progress and quit in Gunfire Reborn, the first thing you need to do is find the save point ahead of continuing to play through the next Act. You'll find a save point in the middle of the room where you defeated the boss from the previous Act you cleared.

Save points come in a few different forms. Act 1 will provide you with a well, and both Acts 2 and 3 will present you with a campfire to activate. Making your way over to both will give you the opportunity to save your game. You'll also find that it revives any fallen teammates and restores your health, so you'll be fighting fit for the next round of combat.

Once you've gotten into the habit of saving before running headlong into the next Act, you might start seeing your progress through Gunfire Reborn improve.

Gunfire Reborn is available now on PC.
